TBS has released its schedule for the first two months of the Major League Baseball season, and the network will rely heavily on Boston and New York. Six of the first MLB on TBS telecasts will involve the Red Sox, Yankees or Mets -- including the season opening Red Sox/Blue Jays telecast on April 6.
After being dumped by The CW for not fitting in with programming like Gossip Girl and America's Next Top Model, WWE Smackdown is headed to struggling My Network TV. Smackdown, which routinely draws better ratings than NBA and Major League Baseball games, figures to be a better fit on MNTV than on The CW, as the former has a reality heavy line-up more friendly to the young male audience WWE wrestling attracts.
The first game of the season will actually be NC State at South Carolina (http://northcarolinastate.scout.com/2/727738.html) which will be no later than 8pm eastern time on that Thursday. The Stanford-OSU game will be 9pm eastern time. I wouldn't put it past espn to put an earlier game at 545 on espn2 or something on espnu.
