Gators draw another big audience on CBS

CBS continues to attract big audiences for college football coverage, thanks primarily to the drawing power of the Florida Gators.

Last Saturday's Georgia/Florida tilt drew a 4.4 rating and 6.9 million viewers on CBS, up 47% in ratings and 50% in viewership from a 3.0 and 4.6 million for last year's comparable Georgia/LSU tilt. Compared to last year's Georgia/Florida game on CBS, Saturday's matchup was up 16% in ratings (4.4 to 3.8).

Georgia/Florida was the highest rated, most-viewed college football game of the week, edging USC/Oregon and Texas/Oklahoma State on ABC's Saturday Night Football (4.2, 6.8 mil).

Saturday's game stands as the second-highest rated and second-most viewed college football game of the season on CBS, behind only a 6.1 and 10.5 million for Florida/LSU in primetime last month.

Through Saturday, CBS is averaging 6.3 million viewers for college football coverage; the four telecasts to feature the Gators have averaged 7.7 million.
